Have you ever noticed how things change when you step out of your house? Suddenly your solitude is broken by gush winds and unpleasant sounds created as vehicles careen to and fro the busy roads.

You then dash along the throng of people as though you were part of a race. One foot after the next, heedless of the heavy breath it brings. Change has always been constant. Nothing and no one shall ever stay the same. It is perhaps why we now try to catch up frantically. Not only do we run as fast as we can away from what's been, we even run faster as we eagerly reach for the things that lie ahead.

We yearn for so many things that we tend to scurry. We even rush just so not to miss our rides or so not to be late for work. We go through all the haste and hurry to compete against time and eventually, against people. And so we become too busy paying attention just so we can grasp everything in our hands. But do you not find it peculiar? That the more we try to keep track of everything and the more hurriedly we make our way through life, the more things we tend to miss out on.

Perhaps haste has clouded our vision that allows us to see what truly matters. It has made us become so numb that we can hardly feel, and when we do feel something, it is quite sad to say that we only feel for ourselves and take for granted how the people who surround us feel. We have hearts but fail to use it.We may feel but refuse to react to it.

Perhaps it shall always come down to one thing, nothing in life remains constant but change. As time waits for no one, it would be wise to redeem ourselves. As we all must start once more, what better place than here, within our hearts, and what better time than now.
